It’s also led him to dig into an assorted rogue’s gallery of infamous figures like international arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi, the Russian mob’s “Boss of Bosses” Semion Mogilevich, billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and even the President Donald Trump.

In any case, both Hopsicker and Saviano scrutinize the lucrative business of what has come to be known as “Narco-Capitalism”. And given the amount of money the illicit drug trade makes within the global economy it’s an apropos portmanteau.

Together, Daniel and I weave through the labyrinth of his reporting on what he dubs “transnational organized crime” and it’s intersection with politics and business. Along the way Daniel gives his take the late Gary Webb’s “Dark Alliance” series covering the alleged connection between Iran/Contra and LA’s crack-cocaine epidemic, the notoriously controversial ex-Trump strategist Steve Bannon, and, near the end of our conversation, even offers a compellingly probable contender for who the “Q” is behind the madness of QAnon.

For Deutsche Bank’s grift with Khashoggi, the bank was fined $278 million.

Khashoggi’s financial fraud and drug trafficking operation included a Sarasota grifter named Jonathan Curshen (currently in prison until 2030) along with Steve Bannon’s chief lieutenant Andy Badolato.
Curshen had earlier attempted a last minute save of Semion Mogilevich’s attempt to worm his way into the Western financial system with a company named YBM Magnex, by offering to take the company private on the eve of the Fed’s seizure of the entire enterprise.

Pavel Vrublevsky, the first Russian hacker named by the FBI (in 2016), ran back end operations for a Khashoggi-owned company called the “Blue Moon Group Inc” led by Tampa Mobster Mike Muzio, (also currently in prison) that ran dozens of Mob porn sites like VoyeurDorm.com.
Finally, I don’t know that this is what Mueller found. This is what I found. But if people feel free to characterize a report no one’s seen, I’m okay taking a little license too.
