The Trump Prophesies: Meet The Internet Seers Who Foretold His Rise – By Ethan Harfenist
“Trump is sent by the Lord to expose the corrupt establishment”
Donald Trump has clinched the Republican nomination—a fact that just six months ago would have seemed shocking to many. But for a few holy seers, Trump’s rise isn’t startling at all. In fact, it was preordained by the Almighty, and told to them through religious visions.
Dozens of self-declared prophets and preachers—some of whom reach hundreds of thousands online—have taken to YouTube to speak about Trump as biblical prophecy. Whether he appeared in dreams or specific readings of the New Testament itself, the mogul’s ascendancy was foretold, according to the internet’s religious zealots.
A video of a retired firefighter sharing his 2011 foretelling of Trump’s rise has reached over a million viewers. SeekAndYe ShallFind, a woman’s channel with no biographical details, posted her Trump prophesy back in 2014. A woman named Susan Waldrop shared details last fall of a vision of Trump that came to her in a dream. In it, she’s praying with Trump when an earthquake destroys the surrounding town, but angels protect her and Donald. It’s been watched 43,000 times.
Other prophesies come from professionals. Rich Vera is self-described born again “man of God” is a traveling preacher, who according to his website, who speaks to thousands of faithful around the world. In a video uploaded in March, that’s since gotten more than 60,000 views, Vera spoke about a “prophetic vision” given to him of Donald Trump, in which he saw how the former reality TV star will be used by God to expose corruption in government.

“The Lord gave me a vision,” Vera says in the video. “There was something that [Trump] had as a younger man with the Lord, but the Lord marked his life and separated him… This is a man who is going to be use of God to bring to light a lot of dirt…”

Another video, posted by Pastor Steve of the Melbourne, Australia-based Discover Church, echoes thismessage. The 32-minute video on “teaching how to interpret the Bible and discern prophetic messages,” was posted in April and has over 760,000 views. “But much like Cyrus and Nebuchadnezzar, whom the believers could NOT believe and could NOT accept that God would use, Trump is sent by the Lord to expose the corrupt establishment,” the video’s description reads. “God will raise up the leader whom He wills. He is not beholden to the Church’s earthly opinion.”
Steve goes onto describe Trumpet as “My Trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days.”
Broadcasting from Nigeria, Olisa Ufondu, of The City of the Living God Incorporated, uploaded his “epic prophecy” “thrill video” about President Barack Obama, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Trump. Shot with a majestic lion wallpaper background, Ufoundu addresses first Obama as antichrist and bad man (“he’s not those things”) and Buhari (“He won, because God chose him for it. So stop slandering your leader”). Regarding Trump, Ufondu, based off a divine vision he had, predicts that he will be victorious in November’s election. “The glory of God was covering his face. And I could see his hair—his hair looks like the color of my tie,” he says, laughing at his tie joke.
Trump, the twice-divorced, thrice-married billionaire dealmaker, seems like an unlikely ally among evangelical Christians. While he’s played lip-service to Christianity, he’s struggled with the specifics. Last year, after saying the Bible was his favorite book, he failed to come up with a verse he liked. (He’s since cleared that up, naming the not-that-friendly “an eye for an eye” as his favorite.)
But, not all the faithful see promise in Trump’s candidacy. There’s an equally vehement side of YouTube preaching where others are saying the exact opposite: Donald Trump is actually the antichrist. One such video calls Trump a “big parasite” whose “love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” The video, which uses a computerized voice to narrate, ties Trump’s famous casinos to such wrongdoings.
If the contradiction in divine vision leaves you confused, you’ll just have to wait and see what actually happens come November.
