– “…A further escalation of the strategy of tension pushing Europe towards a confrontation no less dangerous than the Cold War. Cloaked by silent politicians and a mute media in the “great democracies” of the West”
(‘The Art of War’, The Coiling Anaconda – By Manlio Dinucci)
Nato pursues its propaganda campaign aimed at making us believe that Russia is on the warpath and that we need to be ready. Thus, flouting the principles of the Alliance (premised on relying only on regular forces), the Alliance is setting up in Poland, just it did so in Ukraine – a paramilitary force of 35 000 men that forms part of the Anakonda 16 manoeuvres. The thinking is that once members of this paramilitary force have participated in these exercises, they will, in turn, perpetuate the myth of a Russian threat.
Today marks the beginning of Anakonda 16 in Poland: “the biggest allied exercise of this year”. More than 25 thousand men from 19 Nato countries (USA, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey and others) and from the following 6 [NATO] partners:
• Georgia, Ukraine and Kosovo (recognized as a state), actually already US-led Nato members;
• Macedonia still not in Nato which is entirely due to Greece’s objection to its name (Macedonia is also the name of a province of Greece that [the state of] Macedonia could claim); and
• Sweden and Finland that are becoming increasingly closer to Nato (in May they participated at the Alliance’s Meeting of Foreign Ministers).
Formally, so as to satisfy Warsaw’s national pride, the exercise is under Polish leadership (which gives the “k” in the name). In actual fact, it is led by the US Army Europe that, with an “air” responsibility that includes 51 countries (including the whole of Russia), has the official mission of “promoting US strategic interests in Europe and Euroasia”. Every year, more than 1,000 military air-borne operations are carried out in more than 40 countries.
The U.S. Army Europe participates in the exercise with 18 of its units, which include the air borne 173a Brigade from Vicenza. Anakonda 16, which is being carried out until 17 June, is clearly targeting Russia. This provides “missions of attack of airborne multinational forces” and others that are also in the Baltic region close to Russian territory.
On the eve of Anakonda 16, Poland announced that in 2017, it will expand armed Polish forces from 100,000 to 150,000 men, establishing a paramilitary force of 35,000 men called the “territorial defense force”. Allocated in all provinces starting with the eastern ones, this will be tasked with “preventing Russia from taking possessing of Polish territory, just as it has done in Ukraine”.
The members of the new force will receive a monthly salary and will be trained, starting in September, by US and Nato trainers [based] on the model adopted in Ukraine. Here they train the National Guards including the Neonazi battalions. The Polish paramilitary association, Strzelec, which with more than 10, 000 men will form the nerve of the new force, has already begun its training by participating in Anakonda 16. Establishing a paramilitary force which at the domestic level, provides president Andrzej Duda with a new instrument to quell repress opposition , is part of military development in Poland. Its cost is estimated at 34 billion dollars by 2022 and it is encouraged by the US and Nato, serving an anti-Russian goal.
Operations to establish in Poland a terrestrial missile battalion of the US system Aegis, similar to those already operating in Romania, have already begun. The [Romanian set up] can launch both interceptor missiles and missiles for nuclear attack. In wake of the Nato summit in Poland (8-9 July), which will officialise the anti-Russia escalation, the Pentagon will prepare to deploy in Europa a brigade for battle of 5,000 men that will rotate between Poland and the Baltic countries.
At the same time, USA/NATO drills directed against Russia intensify: on 5 June, two days before Anakonda 16, Baltops 16 is initiated in the Baltic Sea: with 6,100 soldiers, 45 ships and 60 war planes from 17 countries (including Italy) under US Command. Also participating in this are the US strategic bombers, B-52, about 100 miles from the Russian territory of Kaliningrad.
A further escalation of the strategy of tension pushing Europe towards a confrontation no less dangerous than the Cold War. Cloaked by silent politicians and a mute media in the “great democracies” of the West.
