HIGH SOCIETY: Study Confirms The Therapeutic Properties Of LSD

– A new study out of Switzerland has confirmed, yet again, that LSD can be used in therapy for people with anxiety and life-threatening illnesses.

  • It’s technically the first study on LSD’s potential psycho therapeutic uses in forty years that focuses on anxiety. Of the 12 participants experienced major decreases in anxiety levels due to the LSD-assisted therapy. Those decreases lasted for upwards of a year after being administered.

“We had in 30 sessions (22 with full dose 200 μg LSD and 8 with placebo dose 20 μg LSD) no severe side effects such as psychotic experiences or suicidal crisis or flashbacks or severe anxieties (bad trips),” says the study’s lead, Peter Gasser, M.D. “That means that we can show that LSD treatment can be safe when it is done in a carefully controlled clinical setting.”

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide was discovered completely by accident by Albert Hofmann. It had been unintentionally created 5 years prior to attempting to synthesize potentially medicinal constituents from ergot fungus, which grows on rye. One day, he intended to re-examine it, and a small amount of it was absorbed through his finger.

Three days later, he intentionally tried it, making April 19th, 1943 the first day a human being ever consumed LSD. Hoffman and his wife would spend the remainder of their lives advocating the medicinal use of psychedelics.
