– The online Turkish Anonymous Hacktivist Team ”Red Hack” hacked and breached the official website of Turkish Power Administration System, deleting 1.5 Million Liras (Turkish currency) worth debt of Soma region. (Soma is a town and district of Manisa Province in the Aegean region of Turkey).
Turkish hacker team RedHack announced hacking into power administration system and canceling 1.5 million liras (approx. 650K US dollars) of electricity bills to be paid to Soma Electricity Production company.
Other than deleting debt records, RedHack also leaked usernames and passwords belonging to Power administration system users.
RedHack announced the breach on their official Twitter handle.
RedHack also uploaded a video as a proof of hack, showing the hackers breaching Power Administration System website and deleting the debt details.

Soma is a district recently noted for a historic massacre of 301 mine workers, and now struggling with destruction of agricultural land for construction of a thermal plant to process the coal for electricity production that workers have been dying for.
This is not the first time when RedHack hackers have damaged the Turkish government. In past, the group made news for leaking Turkish Police Informant Files, personal details of U.S. Embassy staff working in Turkey and hacking of Ankara Chamber of Industry against Nuclear Summit.
